UK: PSR Issues Progress Update on Access and Governance Report on Payment Systems

On June 27, 2019, the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) published a report that updates on the progress made to the access and governance of payment systems. The report provides information on the developments in access to payment systems in 2018 and the collaborative work that interbank payment system operators, indirect access providers (IAPs), the PSR, the Bank of England, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and others have done to improve access to payment systems.

The PSR recognises that effective access and well-governed payment systems are critical to promoting competition and innovation in payments, and to promoting more competition in payment services and retail banking.
