UK: PSR Calls for Views on Research into Cash Access, Use and Acceptance

On July 24, 2019, the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) released a consultation paper seeking views in relation to its research into cash access, its use by consumers and acceptance by small businesses.

This is the second call for views paper the regulator has released on the topic, with the PSR seeking to ensure that cash remains and will remain in the future a central choice of means of payments for consumers and small businesses.

This paper focuses on what consumers’ cash needs are and the preferences of consumers and businesses in light of the previous research findings, summarising at the same time answers received in the context of that previous research.
