UK: Government Consults on the Role of Cash and Digital Payments in the New Economy

On March 13, 2018, HM Treasury published a consultation paper on cash and digital payments in the new economy. Taking into consideration that the use of cash is rapidly decreasing, while the amount of digital payments facilitated by new technologies has significantly increased, HM Treasury hopes to better understand the role of both cash and digital payments through this call for evidence.
