Sweden: Financial Supervisory Authority Proposes Amendments to Regulations on Payment Service Providers

On March 22, 2019, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen - FI) announced the launch of a consultation on proposed amendments to regulations applicable to payment services, electronic money (e-money) and housing loans.

In particular, the introduced amendments will bring about changes that will have an impact on payment institutions, housing credit institutions, e-money institutions and registered e-money issuers.

The proposals aim to bring more clarity in relation to certain obligations imposed on the said financial institutions, facilitating their compliance while reducing the relevant administrative burden.
