Romania: Draft GDPR Implementation Bill Published

On September 5, 2017, in view of the upcoming entry into force of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Ministry of Internal Affairs published a draft law introducing amendments to the existing Romanian data protection legal framework.
The current data protection regime comprises Law no. 102/2005 on the national supervisory authority for personal data processing (the Romanian DPA), as well as data protection Law no. 677/2001.
