Norway: Financial Supervisory Authority Announces Transition Scheme for Strong Customer Authentication

On August 20, 2019, the Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet) announced that it will grant an extension to the deadline of September 14, 2019 to payment service providers (PSPs) for the implementation of the strong customer authentication (SCA) requirements under the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

According to the authority, this initiative will help support a frictionless transaction experience for card-based payments.
