Norway: Consultation on New Draft of Personal Data Act to Implement GDPR

The Ministry of Justice has submitted a consultation on amendments to the Personal Data Act, which will implement EU privacy regulation in Norwegian law.

The 1995 EU Data Protection Directive was incorporated into the EEA agreement, resulting in the directive applying to all 31 EEA countries, including Norway. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) shall apply from May 25, 2018 and it will need to be incorporated in the EEA countries as well as all EU member states.
