New Zealand: Key Principles for Safe and Effective Use of Data and Analytics

On May 16, 2018, the Privacy Commissioner, in close cooperation with the Chief Government Data Steward, released a guidance paper it has developed that includes the six key principles that should govern the use of personal data of the citizens of New Zealand held by the government.   

The principles are aimed at promoting secure and efficient use of data and analytics and are expected to assist governmental agencies in adopting best practices for the use of such data and analytics, which will be taken into account during decision-making activities.
