New Zealand: Financial Markets Authority Cautions on ICOs and Crypto-Currencies

On October 25, 2017 the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) published an announcement on initial coin offerings (ICOs) and crypto-currency services, alongside online resources for investors.

The FMA wants to to ensure that the regulatory framework is relevant and appropriate to innovative technologies. The regulator will engage with industry authorities locally and internationally on a regular basis to expand knowledge and views on the risks and benefits of the innovation.
