Japan: Center for Rule-making Strategies Proposes Rules on Initial Coin Offerings

On April 5, 2018 the Center for Rule-making Strategies at Tama University in Japan published a call for rule-making on initial coin offerings (ICOs). As ICOs are still in the development stage, there are no industry practices yet and the center suggests rules must be put in place to enable ICOs to obtain public trust and reliable financing methods.

Members of the ICO Business Research Group, which comprise experts from various industries and specialist fields, conducted discussions from November 2017 to March 2018.
