Ireland: AML/CFT Guidelines for the Financial Sector

On September 6, 2019, the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) published Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Guidelines for the Financial Sector.

The guidelines set out the compliance measures the CBI expects credit and financial institutions to adhere to, under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010 (the CJA 2010) following the transposition of the EU's Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (4th AMLD) into national legislation. The guidelines also include expectations from CBI’s previous AML/CFT sectoral reports and bulletins, along with relevant European Supervisory Authority Guidelines.
