On September 4, 2019, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) released a mutual evaluation report (MER) on Hong Kong, China (HKC), which summarises the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) measures in place in Hong Kong during its onsite visit between October to November 2018.
The report further analyses the level of compliance with FATF recommendations, effectiveness of Hong Kong's AML/CFT system and provides recommendations to further strengthen the system.
