On August 15, 2019, the Europay, MasterCard, Visa global standard for chip-based debit and credit card transactions (EMVCo) published a draft specification bulletin that included a change to the EMV® Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for Payment Systems.
The change will support the future eight-digit Issuer Identification Numbers (INN), as well as the existing six-digit format, as part of EMVCo’s ongoing maintenance to ensure worldwide interoperability and acceptance of secure payments transactions.
The DBS summarises these changes to ensure all those affected are informed.
