EBA Consults on Strong Customer Authentication and Secure Communications under PSD2

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published a consultation paper on draft technical standards on strong customer authentication and common and secure communication under the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

PSD2 aims to ensure all payment services offered electronically are carried out in a secure manner, and these draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) set out a harmonised framework that is aimed at ensuring an appropriate level of security for consumers and payment services providers, allowing for the development of user-friendly, accessible and innovative means of payment.

The EBA will publish the final Regulatory Technical Standards after consultation.
