Austria: Consultation on Data Protection Amendment Act 2018

The Austrian parliament has published a six-week public consultation on the federal act amending the federal constitutional law, adopting the Data Protection Act and repealing the Data Protection Act 2000 (Data Protection Act 2018).

This act implements some provisions to be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which aims to protect natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data across the European Union.
