Australia: Law Introducing Obligation to Include Right to Delete CDR Data in Consumer Data Rules

On September 18, 2019, the Treasury Laws Amendment (2019 Measures No. 2) Bill 2019 was introduced and read for the first time in the House of Representatives. 

The bill follows the adoption in August 2019 of the Treasury Laws Amendment (Consumer Data Right) Bill 2019, which establishes a new consumer data right (CDR) framework that enables consumers to have more control over their data and effectively use it for their own benefit.
