European companies will have to deal with greater scrutiny over their processes for protecting customer data under new regulations, according to a British law firm.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which was approved by the European Parliament in April, larger firms across the EU will be required to keep records of how they process activities involving data.
