European Bank Offers Lifeline To Caribbean Remitters

Caribbean correspondent banks and remitters cut off from their banking relationships in the USĀ are now turning to financial institutions in Europe instead, according to central bank officials.

Gobind Ganga, the governor of the Bank of Guyana, revealed earlier this month that the Bank of America (BOA) recently notified several local institutions it had decided to stop providing them services, potentially as soon as August.
