U.S. Mulls Data Protection Future Post-Equifax

Industry leaders convened on Capitol Hill last week to discuss the future of cybersecurity in the U.S. and reflect on lessons learned from the Equifax data breach earlier this year, with some looking to Europe as an example to follow.

The House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit called together a number of experts to discuss the ways in which data security could be buttressed in the U.S., with some discussion over whether reforms should be coordinated at the federal level or whether it were better left to more agile state legislatures.
