Unanswered Questions: Industry Pushes For PSD2 Standards Delay

Industry groups are pressing regulators on whether incoming strong customer authentication (SCA) rules can be delayed, arguing the drip-feed of guidance has created a “bottleneck” and left firms unable to meet the September deadline.

Regulatory technical standards on SCA take effect on September 14 this year, part of the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), introducing tough security rules around online and face-to-face transactions.
