UK Regulator Admits 'Concern' Over Merchant Adoption Of SCA

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has said payment service providers must act quickly to push merchants into compliance with EU rules on strong customer authentication (SCA) for online card payments.

The FCA will begin enforcing the rules, part of the EU’s revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), on March 14, 2021, following an 18-month delay largely caused by ill-preparedness among merchants.
