UK Puts Payment Data Project On Ice After Industry Criticism

The UK’s Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) has announced it will delay plans for more open access to payment data until new infrastructure is in place, citing a lack of commercial use cases and data protection concerns under the current system.

Yesterday the PSR released a summary of responses to its consultation on “the role of data in the payments industry”, which proposed enhanced third-party access to scheme-wide sets of payment data.
