UK Hits 4th AMLD Deadline After Last-Gasp Reforms

HM Treasury has confirmed that the EU’s 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (4th AMLD) is now in effect in the UK, after last-gasp reforms made it through parliament late last week.

The government announced on Friday that the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 — which transpose both the 4th AMLD and Wire Transfer Regulation into national law — had been passed the previous evening, just in time for today’s deadline.
