Top EU Regulators Call For Cooperation On Fintech Sandboxes

European authorities have called for greater cooperation on sandboxes between member states, citing a risk of regulatory arbitrage and warning national fragmentation could harm fintechs’ attempts to achieve scale.

The European supervisory authorities (ESAs), a trio of regulators including the European Banking Authority (EBA), published a joint report on Monday examining the current array of sandboxes and innovation hubs across the EU, laying out recommendations for next steps in the area, as well as a series of best practices.
