Switzerland Looks To Match EU With New Data Rules

New legislation intended to keep Switzerland in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be more forgiving than the EU text but could still mean big changes for the country’s financial institutions.

A draft of a revised Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (FDPA) was put out for consultation at the end of 2016; it intended to incorporate changes present in the GDPR to ensure seamless continuity for Swiss businesses operating across the border into the EU and vice versa.
