Regulatory Fragmentation ‘Hampering EU Cyber Efforts’

An advisor to the Austrian government has bemoaned the lack of regulatory harmonisation on cybersecurity within the EU, as the financial sector fends off attacks on an unprecedented scale.

Thomas Stubbings, chairperson of Austria’s government cybersecurity platform, said that at least three incoming pieces of European legislation will have an impact on financial firms’ cybersecurity controls.
