PSD2: European Commission Should Demand More From APIs, Retailers Argue

Two influential retail groups have written to the European Commission to appeal for a “workable compromise” on third-party account access, as the rift between banks and fintechs shows little sign of narrowing.

A letter penned by EuroCommerce and Ecommerce Europe, which between them represent millions of retailers, argued that application programming interfaces (APIs) being built by banks should provide richer data and functionality if third-party access is to be a success.
