A European politician has backed a group of third-party providers (TPPs) concerned that banks are planning to restrict emergency account access once major reforms take effect in September.

German MEP Markus Ferber wrote to outgoing European Commission vice president Valdis Dombrovskis in April demanding “that we must not see a deterioration of TPP services” once regulatory technical standards go live across the EU on September 14 this year.
