U.S. payment providers in the betting market say they are working on a compliance model that can be deployed as soon as a state regulator gives the green light to sports betting, essentially creating an “assembly line” to keep up with legalization.
Since the Supreme Court's landmark May 2018 decision overturning the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), seven states have launched sports betting and a further eight states have passed legislation already this year.
