Odds Stacked Against Entercash In Payment Blocking Probe

An independent complaints committee in Norway has deemed that payment blocking rules set out by gambling regulators are legal, after a payment firm affected claimed the restrictions violated EEA single market laws.

The Lottery Committee (Lotterinemnda) rejected the appeal of Maltese payment firm Entercash on Tuesday, concluding that the measures taken by the Norwegian Gaming Authority (NGA) were necessary to achieve its statutory objective of reducing the negative consequences of gambling.
