The UK could depart from the EU in just two weeks after Prime Minister Boris Johnson agreed a revised withdrawal agreement with his counterparts in Brussels, although it is far from certain parliament will rubber-stamp the new deal.
In an open letter addressed “to business” on Thursday, Johnson wrote: “Despite many saying it was impossible, I am pleased to report we have successfully negotiated a deal which provides the basis for a new relationship with the EU based on free trade and friendly cooperation.
“We can now get Brexit done and leave the EU in two weeks’ time, without disruption and in a friendly way.”
