Crypto-asset experts in New Zealand have said there are still some hurdles in the way of mainstreaming payment of salaries in virtual currency, after the country’s authorities clarified how crypto-denominated income should be taxed.
A ruling by New Zealand’s tax authority, Inland Revenue, published last week, made waves after being reported in the financial and crypto press as a “legalisation” of paying salaries in crypto.
