Less than a month before the close of Nevada’s 2019 legislative session, lawmakers continue to discuss several blockchain-focused bills introduced by Republican Senator Ben Kieckhefer that aim to support the technology’s incorporation into daily life.
Although Nevada does not prohibit blockchain technology or restrict its usage, Kieckhefer’s bills provide clarifying language to Senate Bill 398, a law passed in 2017 that officially recognized blockchain technology in the state.
Under Kieckhefer’s bill, the use of blockchain technology or licensure would not be taxed by local government in Nevada.
