Macau Monetary Officials Warn Against ICO Activity

The Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) has told local financial institutions not to use Bitcoin or other virtual currencies, three days after a high profile funding drive for a Macau casino and junket venture.

The AMCM said in a statement on Wednesday that it issued a notice on September 20 to “remind all the banking and payment institutions in Macao not to participate in or provide, directly or indirectly, any financial services” for activities related to token issuance and virtual currencies.
