Italian authorities have opened consultations on the country’s transposition of the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), largely running with the level one text while leaving some questions unanswered.
Published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on July 18 and running until July 31, the relatively brief consultation period is intended to allow the process to be completed before the government begins its summer recess.
Authorities hope this will give Italy a better chance of hitting the implementation deadline of January 2018, with the final draft law slated to be published in September.
