Issuers Afraid To 'Jump The Gun' On SCA Communications

Uncertainty about when national authorities will start enforcing EU-wide strong authentication rules risks causing a stalemate over customer communications, industry figures have said.

Although the official deadline for new strong customer authentication (SCA) requirements remains September 14 — and regulators have been clear that that will remain the case legally — the European Banking Authority (EBA) has opened the way for a transition period before enforcement starts.
