Irish Officials Warn Opportunistic Fraudsters Exploiting GDPR

With the EU-wide General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) poised to take effect on Friday, Irish enforcement agencies have warned businesses and consumers of a spike in phishing emails looking to capitalise on the reforms.  

Ireland’s Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau issued a warning on Wednesday on genuine-looking scam emails impersonating companies such as Airbnb, Netflix, NatWest and Google.
