Ireland Insists 4th AMLD Transposition Is Imminent As EU Court Looms

Irish authorities have insisted that a draft bill implementing the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (4th AMLD) will be published by the end of this month, after again being scolded by the EU for missing last June’s deadline.

The European Commission moved to its second phase of infringement proceedings against Ireland last month, giving the country until May 8 to transpose the financial crime reforms into national law or be dragged in front of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
