Industry Steps Up Work On PSD2 Registers

Industry groups are hoping to fill a gap left by European regulators and create hi-tech registers of authorised third parties, after concerns that incoming reforms might heighten the risk of fraud.

Once the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) takes effect in January, banks will be prevented from denying access to third-party payment providers — as long as those providers have been authorised by their respective national regulator.
