French Data Regulator Set To Intervene In PSD2 Account Access Dispute

France’s data protection authority will be tasked with drafting guidelines on third-party access to non-payment accounts, after lawmakers failed to agree on broadening the scope of the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

As part of the ratification process for transposing PSD2 into French law, the Senate had attempted to extend the domestic text so that third-party providers accessing savings, investments and other financial accounts were brought under regulatory oversight.
