Fintechs Grapple With PSD2 'Whitelisting' Uncertainty

The European payments industry is split on how a “whitelist” of trusted payees will work for third-party providers (TPPs) once new security rules take effect next September.

Incoming regulatory technical standards, which will sit alongside the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) from September 14, 2019, require two-factor authentication on all remote transactions unless certain criteria are met.
