Financial firms in the UK have appealed for additional guidance from regulators on cybersecurity, after a government report revealed nearly half of all businesses suffered at least one breach last year.
Following a cross-sector survey of more than 1,500 UK businesses, the government said on Wednesday that 46 percent of companies — and seven in ten large organisations — had identified a data breach or attack on their cyber-defences in the past 12 months.
Many reported being under attack on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis.
