The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has published its finalised guidance on virtual currencies, putting the same standards on crypto exchanges and wallets as currently exist for more traditional financial institutions and fund transfer operations.
Following the introduction of draft guidance at the standard-setting body’s plenary last year and the further staking out of its position in the autumn, FATF has now published a complete list of measures for countries to follow when regulating virtual currencies.
