European Regulators Issue National AML Guidance

EU authorities have issued guidelines to national authorities around tackling money laundering and terrorist financing, although legal experts have downplayed the potential impact on the financial sector.

The European supervisory authorities (ESAs) — EBA, EIOPA and ESMA — published the guidelines this week, which follow a supranational risk assessment and form part of the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (4th AMLD).
