European Parliament Concerned Over Lack Of GDPR Harmonisation

EU parliamentarians have expressed concerns that incoming data protection laws will find uneven footing across the continent, with some insisting that greater involvement from Brussels will be needed to ensure consistent application of the regulation across member states.

Speaking at a debate on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) this week, members of the European Parliament, as well as independent figures, voiced fears that in the absence of coherent guidance the intentions of the GDPR could be undone.
