EU authorities are actively looking for how to integrate blockchain into the continent’s operations, as industry figures highlight the need for a bespoke regulatory approach.
At yesterday’s Blockchain Summit in London, Romanian MEP Sorin Moisă outlined certain steps the EU will take next year to assess its regulatory approach to blockchain and associated virtual currency-related issues.
“There is an attempt, particularly in Brussels, to understand what is happening and also to interrogate whether there should be regulation — what type of regulation and for what particular aspects of blockchain there should be regulation,” he said.
