EU Terror Financing Reforms Progress Despite Lingering Questions

The European Parliament last week adopted a set of recommendations on countering terrorist financing (CTF), but some MEPs have warned that the new measures do not go far enough.

The final adopted text called for significant reforms, including more stringent measures on the use of prepaid cards, such as a requirement that they are funded from an identifiable bank account, and the creation of bank account registers open to member states’ financial intelligence units (FIUs).
