Estonia Mulls New Restrictions On Surging Crypto Licensees

The Estonian government is considering a raft of new measures to supervise the rapidly expanding number of cryptocurrency licensees in the country, as it attempts to heal the reputational damage wrought by the Danske Bank money laundering scandal.

Tallinn’s financial intelligence unit handed licences to a total of 1,124 virtual currency exchanges and wallet providers during 2018, PaymentsCompliance revealed last month.
