EBA Tipped To Give Industry Strong Authentication Lifeline

European regulators are readying new guidance on September’s strong authentication reforms that could give payment firms a 15-month transition period to become fully compliant.

Representatives from EU member state authorities met with the European Banking Authority (EBA) on Thursday to finalise clarifications to how the rules — regulatory technical standards that support PSD2, the revised Payment Services Directive — will work in practice.
