EBA Launches Draft Cyber Guidelines For Payment Firms

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has proposed new cybersecurity guidelines that would oblige payment firms to place greater power in the hands of users in the interests of increasing transparency and avoiding unnoticed illicit access to accounts.

Opened for consultation on Thursday, the draft guidelines are intended to address ICT risks at banks, payment firms and e-money institutions, and prevent security issues that leave customers vulnerable to fraud and hacking.
